Statistics
This page is the "top level" page for organizing materials, discussions and files that faculty want to share across the CSU.
It would be good to further organize a topical layout for this page, perhaps: Syllabi, Student Learning Objectives, Assignments, Grading, etc.
Syllabi
This file is a universally_designed_syllabus_template.docx uploaded for testing.
This is a link to a page with a universally designed syllabus.
Student Learning Objectives
Links, files or discussion area on SLOs?
Assignments
What kind of format here? Files? A discussion forum?
Grading Disuss
Grading Discussion on a blog?
Additional Resources
- Reality Math website: http://www.realitymath.org/college-level-units/
- This website has a collection of lessons designed to help students learn more about the world we live in, while at the same time learning about related mathematical ideas. In particular, in terms of statistics, this website has a lesson on chi-square.
- Engaging Mathematics initiative website: http://engagingmathematics.ipower.com/teaching-manuals/
- This website contains a collection of teaching manuals (includes lessons and activities) that connect mathematics to the world. There are two statistics manuals on the site.
- Jo Boaler's youcubed.org How to Learn Math course for students: https://www.youcubed.org/online-student-course/
- This is a FREE six lesson course (approximately an hour and a half total). You could assign this course as homework for students enrolled in a statistics course (as well as other math courses!).
- There are also two courses for those who teach math: https://www.youcubed.org/online-teacher-courses/
